This was a very exciting and informative GIP event to listen to. Dr. Paul Wennberg, director of The Linde Center for Global Environmental Science at Caltech, talked about how the pandemic has affected the lives of the world's population as well as the climate. He focused on how the pandemic affected the environment by showcasing data, statistics, and graphs in order to demonstrate what was going on.
Dr. Wennberg talked about how the pandemic showed promising signs for a better environment and how we can learn from that experience as well as mistakes in the past in order to combat climate change. In order to better protect our environment and our future, we need to reduce our carbon emissions and use sustainable energy. Overall, I really enjoyed this GIP event because Dr. Wennberg gave insight on how the pandemic affected the environment and how we can better protect it for the future.
